What's your wedding song?

And why did you choose that song?

Just curious Smile

Re: What's your wedding song?

  • We didn't play any songs during our wedding - just before and after. Our entrance song was an Alice in Chains song, played by a flutist and a guitarist. It was really pretty!
  • At the wedding itself, my cousin sang "In My Life" accompanied by a string quartet. I loved it! It's always been one of my favorite songs, and the words just really resonate with me for some reason.
  • I walked down the aisle to "Forever" by Ben Harper. It's a beautiful song and if I could've written a song to DH, it would've been those lyrics. Love it. We walked out of the ceremony to "At Last" by Etta James.

  • Sorry, I meant your first dance song... or "your song."

We don't have a song that's "ours", but our first dance was to "That's What She Gets" by Brooks & Dunn. Love love love that song.

  • I honestly don't remember. We didn't want a "couple's first dance" at our reception, and had told the band that...but they had other plans and sprung one on us, anyway. H is a terrible dancer, he admits it, and there is a picture of us dancing together and I look a little annoyed because H had stepped on my feet probably four times already. The band leader is lucky he's related to H!

  • I walked down the aisle to 'Magnolia Wind' by Guy Clark - this would probably be "our song" if we had to pick one. H loves Texas singer-songwriter music, and the lyrics are just so perfect ("I'd rather sleep in a box/Like a bum on the street/Than a fine feather bed/Without your little ol' cold feet").

Our first dance was to 'The Luckiest' by Ben Folds, which is also lovely.

  • My BFF sang "I Will Be Here" by Stephen Curtis Chapman during our ceremony.

Our song is "Dig" by Incubus. (not in our wedding)

  • Our first dance was to "Hard to Concentrate" by the red Hot Chilli Peppers. They're H's favorite band, and the lyrics to the song are just beautiful.

  • We don't have a song. Our first dance was to the Harry Connick Jr version of "It Had To Be You". If I remember correctly (don't want to dig to find our program at the moment), we exited our ceremony to "Ode to Joy".

  • Our first dance song was "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney. I let DH pick the song since I had control of pretty much every other important detail in the wedding. He agonized over it for months.

  • At Last - Etta James. We chose it because we dated for 8 years before getting married, so it seemed right. I wish we went with something different though because so many people use it.

  • We don't really have a song, but we talked about using "Can't Let Go" by Anthony Hamilton as our first dance song. Should we go through with the VR, I think we'll wind up using that song.

  • We danced to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton.

We have several songs that are "our" songs, but the first that comes to mind is "Calling you" by Blue October.

  • I walked down the aisle to Hymne with is the Gallo Winery theme song.  Since that commerical aired in the 80s, I know I wanted to walk down the aisle to that song.

Our first dance song was to "Kiss me" by Six Pence None the Richer which is perfect for us since it took DH six months to kiss me. My friends and I spent four months of that plotting a way to get him to do it. Surprise

  • We didn't have dancing at our wedding. But I walked down the aisle to my MOH singing "The Day Before You" by Rascal Flats. The bridesmaids/groomsmen walked in to the piano playing "Only Hope" by Switchfoot/Mandy Moore. It was so pretty.  And we walked out to "Hey" by Leeland.
