How did everyone do in the Princess Half???
Weather was perfect! It was my first half and I had SO much fun. DH came and spectated and was able to see me at miles 4, 8 and 11.5 and ran with me for a while at the last sighting. It was hard to get up so early and I was a bit slower than I hoped, but not at all surprising after 4 days in the parks with DD, not really running in almost 2 weeks and not sleeping much all week. Finished in 2:18:52, 10:35/minute. I'll take it for my first half, though. How was everyone elses race? Did you run with a tutu or costume? I did not - wasn't brave enough!

j+k+m+e | running with needles
I had a blast but was definitely affected by lack of sleep. I had trouble falling sleep Sat night, so I ended up with about 3 hours of sleep. My official time was 2:31:29, 11 1/2 min slower than what I hoped for.
I was doing great until mile 7, just after the sun came up. My eyesight started getting blurry (like when I stare at a computer all day w/o my reading glasses). It made me a little dizzy, so I had to walk for over 2 miles on and off between miles 7-10. I was able to run most of the last 5k, though I did walk up the hills as we went up to the overpasses.
I had a great time, though. The only pic I stopped for was right in front of the castle. I was able to see my husband in Magic Kingdom and at the finish. I did wear a tutu and tiara, though the tiara flew off around mile 3. Oops!
I did meet Briggs0017 (thanks again for the ride!!). Sorry I didn't meet more of you.
I had a great time! I dressed up as Belle (no tiara, but I did have a rose in my hair). I finished in 2:32:24 with an 11:38 pace. That's about 2.5 minutes slower than my goal finish time, but that's ok. I probably would've finished faster, but it was really crowded and I wound up weaving around a lot, which was frustrating. And did anyone else notice that the timing/pacing was a little bit off at the beginning of the race. My H and ILs signed up for the race tracking, and at first it said I'd finish in 4:04:10, which is WAY longer than I was running in actuality.
I'm surprised at how good I felt afterwards, too. Once we re-grouped, I went back to the hotel, ate, showered and took a nap. After I woke up, I went on over to Epcot for a victory beer in Germany and dinner in Morocco. Even today my muscles aren't as wrecked as I feared they would be.
For a first half marathon experience, it was amazing. I wouldn't have changed a thing. I ran the whole time, only slowing down for the water/powerade stations. I got a little choked up towards the end when I spotted the finish line. I can't wait to see all the pics from race day!!
ETA: I just checked the official race results, and my chip time was 2:31:59, and I finished 5,497 out of 15,784 runners. Not bad!

mehgank - you were only 30sec behind me! If you were in Corral B, then we probably saw each other!
I did notice the timing was off at first. It said I did the first 5k in 40min, when it was actually about 33 min!
I ran as princess Jasmine. No fancy costume. Just blue running skirt and shirt, a little Rajah tiger tucked into my fuel belt and a blue headband with a "jewel". I ran it in 2:32-something. I was way back in corral H because it was my first time. I ran a lot slower than usual and was kinda disappoined with that time. I think spending several days all over the parks was my downfall. My legs and feet were worn out before the race even started. Also, weaving through thousands of walkers especially through all the narrow sections of the course, running on the grass and rocks, etc. was crazy. I wouldn't do it again. I think it was too overcrowded.
I had an amazing time with my family though. It was my first time in Disney with my girls and it was just so magical to experience that with them so I'm happy with the overall experience.
