Re: How was your weekend?
I had a really nice weekend! I got to catch up with a lot of people I haven't seen in a while!
Friday I went out to dinner with some of you girls! It was a ton of fun! (Despite the crazy waitress!)
Saturday I went to Ikea with DH just to wander and kill some time (and i only spent $2 on a new wisk). Then we went out to dinner with some friends for a birthday. After that we went straight to DH's hockey game. After that I was exhausted, so we went home and I went to bed!
Yesterday I got a manicure. I haven't had one in FOREVER! DH was getting his haircut, and there was a Luv Nails right next door, so I went in and they said that I could get them done right then. So I did! I even did the shellac manicure. My nails are rock hard right now. I kind of like it! We'll see how long it lasts (they say 2-3 weeks!) Then we went to a few different furniture stores (we're looking for a bedroom set). After that we just went home cooked dinner, watched a movie and hung out!
All in all, it was a great weekend!

Great time Friday!!!
Ikea- huge accomplishment to only spend $2! I went there to exchange something and ended up spending more $!!
Sounds like an amazing weekend in all!!

Saturday- I went to Autorama for DH and he loved it. Then at night my dad and I went to the Wings game. It would have been more fun if I hadn't fallen coming out of the parking garage and made an idiot of myself. I was hobbling for the rest of the night
Sunday- I worked
I am very impressed! I can never leave the store for less than $100 it seems.
My weekend wasn't crazy, which was nice.

Great night Friday- and much needed. And provided a nice lunch and an all day snack of chocolate cake on Saturday!
Saturday I worked in my basement and set up my craft room and unpacked a bunch of boxes in the basement. The only thing left is to decorate and make it nice down there- which will be a challenge because it's unfinished.
Sunday we went to church, then took T to get a haircut and wasted some time and $ at Meijer getting wasteful items. Cleaned the house and I FINALLY got back to the gym. I was hoping to go this morning but it didn't work out that way (Thanks to Ben who decided he wanted to be up at 4am and go back to bed at 6).

It took all of my control not to buy a new sewing table... But DH talked me out if it. I will get it someday though...

We didn't do much and I loved it. We needed the break.
I did have one bummer thing happen though. I went to get an inch cut off my "bangs" (not really bangs becaues they hung down as far as my chin, but the front part of my hair. She cut way more than an inch. It's now down to the tip of my nose at the longest point. She cut them in a V shape, so the sides are even a bit shorter. I spent a year growing my bangs out and I'm seriously bummed to be back to the awkward middle of growth stage.
Let us know how your nails look after the shellac wears off. I've been tempted, but I was afraid it would damage my already weak nails.
I have pretty strong nails to begin with and the girl gave me some great advice about how to take the shellac off without ruining my nails. I also can go back in and have them remove it for me for free (which is kind of awesome). I will let you know how it works out though!

I'm jealous of your manicure and impressed that you were able to get out of Ikea with only spending $2.00!! Good job!!
Went out to dinner w/you lovely gals & then hit Kohl's on my way home.
Sat. was First Place in the morning & then trying to find a new purse (I'm soooo picky, not too small, not too big or shallow or deep, but it must fit all my stuff). I'm still looking....
Sun. was church & then did mommy/daughter grocery shopping at Sam's Club & Meijer
Friday: Just hung out at home with dh and watched TV
Saturday: got up and cleaned the house. A friend came over to do laundry and we just hung out for a while. Then dh's parents came over for dinner. Overall a nice day
Sunday: got up SUPER early for a Sunday and had breakfast. Then we went to BBB to return some stuff, went to a family get together on my side, and headed home. Plus, we got to video chat with my SIL and our nephew!
This weekend was DH's "Birthday Bonanza" (his words.) His birthday was Thursday so we were celebrating this weekend. Because his parents were coming on Sunday, I was cleaning our house like a madwoman on Saturday. I must have done five loads of laundry and cleaned the place top to bottom. It's sparkling
Then his parents came on Sunday and took us out to lunch. I finished reading the Hunger Games trilogy yesterday and OMG it was amazing. Then we watched the Oscars.
We also finally busted out our brand new sheets that we got for the wedding and they are AMAZING. DH said it was like sleeping on a cloud. I have no idea why I hadn't opened them until now but I'm kicking myself for it.
Love the shellac! I had it done for the wedding and it lasted all the way through the honyemoon and beyond. Where did you get it done and how much was it (if you don't mind me asking)?
This weekend was ok my highlight was dinner with my bestie, I haven?t seen her in a while. And the buffalo chicken sandwich I had was the best way to cheat on my diet!
But other than that not so much, we got our tax refund back and I?m a sad panda about it 5x less than last year!!! At least the house is clean
I got it done at LUV nails in Ann Arbor, and it was $36. A bit pricey, but I am hoping they last through the cruise.

Saturday was a long day. We drove to Lansing, where I picked up my wedding dress. It feels almost perfect without any alterations yet, and was long enough (my big fear). I am very happy and relieved, all at the same time.
From there we went to Grand Rapids. Had burritos at the Beltline Bar (yummy!) (and I think it was Latte that asked if they still do the fried ice cream...they do, we just didn't partake.) From there we went and did cake tasting, and OMG, had like the yummiest chocolate and vanilla cake I think I've ever had. So excited about that! And the price is fantastic! She said she would hold my date for a couple weeks while I thought about it, and I just whipped out my checkbook and wrote her a deposit. Check! (Shannon, I made sure she was going to deliver it TO the reception. lol)
After that we went to FI's sister's house and hung out and had dinner with her family. It was really nice, and then we drove the long, late drive home.
Sunday, we went to the gym (per usual, lately), then went to Somerset, then went home and watched the Oscars.
Friday night I met a few of you ladies for girls night which was fun and much needed. When are we doing it again?
Saturday, I took DD#1 to a program at the library where she gets to sit and read to therapy dogs. It's called Ruff Readers...love the name, hehe. Then we all went to the YMCA and signed up for a family membership! DH's new job will reimburse us for almost all of the monthly membership fee, yippee! I need to get back to working out, I'm excited to try Zumba! And we also signed dd#1 up for swimming lessons. She doesn't know how to swim, meanwhile all her friends belong to the local club and do swim team! It's becoming a problem because she gets invited for playdates to the pool and I feel like I have to go with her, which sometimes embarrasses her (she's 8 going on 13). Then I sneaked out to do a quick trip to Kohls/Target/CVS/Whole Foods all.by.myself.
Sunday, DD#1 and I went to church. Then around 3pm we ran a couple errands as a family and headed to my MIL's house for a birthday dinner for SIL.
It was a good weekend, but I was happy for Monday because that meant DD#1 was going back to school after a week off and I needed the break. Love her, but she climbs the walls all day long!
