you dont want to stay int he south bronx. stay in manhattan or brooklyn or queens and take the subway to 161st street/yankee stadium. the 4 and b and d stop there. metro north also has a new station there so if you find a good deal in westchester you can stay there as well.
I don't think you'll find a hotel near Yankee Stadium, maybe just sleezy motels!
A good place to stay, that is relatively nearby is the Radisson or Marriot in New Rochelle, NY.

You're better off staying in Harlem (which is not that bad, we leave near there) and taking the subway up. Which is what nearly all game-goers do.
