both dh and I saw J. Lo and said "is that her nip slipping out?" I couldn't stop staring at it.
any other awkward moments you noticed so far?

I only read about this, so hopefully it really happened so I'm not pointing out an injustice that didn't really happen. They had that long pointless bit with Downey and Paltrow, then cut off the actual winners of the category, the team from the winning documentary Undefeated. Dumb.
I don't get why the winners can't talk, but we have Cirque du Soleil.
I got annoyed, and turned it off.
I definitely thought J-Lo's nip was on the *brink!* of slipping out. I thought I saw an areola!
I do feel bad because they cut off people no one knows-like documentary winners-and this is probably their one big chance to say their thing. the downey/paltrow thing was lame.
but I did like the cirque du soleil bit.
I, too, thought I was imagining the nip slip.
I thought Cirque was fantastic, but totally agree about giving preference to the presenters over the recipients. It's all about what keeps people interested...
I don't think I've ever hated the Oscars. I love movies and celebrities too much to critique it.
ETA: And by 'totally agree', I mean, I agree with you PPs who said it's offputting and strange.
it seems to be going by fast this time.
and did anyone see Hugo? I had no desire too. It seemed like one of those really well directed and acted movies that would be beautifully done but boring (like Babel imo).
I want to see Hugo because I read the book, which was a-mazing. But otherwise, I don't have much of an interest in seeing the movie.
Also, I totally saw when Jennifer Lopez's areola.
I saw it yesterday at the showcase, and I don't think it's like that at all. I absolutely adored it. I didn't see Babel, but there's really not much boring about Hugo. War Horse, on the other hand...
This exactly!! Then the other one started to show (or so I thought) and the whole time I was staring at her boobies.
I thought the same thing!!
I just saw a clip of JLo on the red carpet and even saw her areola there! I saw her on the red carpet live but I guess I missed that somehow. Wow.
I thought she'd be a pro with the boob tape by now after her infamous Grammy's dress several years back.

Yeah, not your imagination. Within a few moments there was a twitter account named "JLosNipple" tweeting "Did you just see me?" and "@MarcAnthony -- Miss you!", etc. LOL.
Emma Stone's dress was looking a little dangerous too as she was jumping around (it was split from neck to waist all the way down the front but you could only see it when she was moving around on stage)...I think it would have been much better if she had taped it or draped it to show that split consistently, otherwise it looked too matronly.
Even worse, they cut the Best Song performances for time (only two of them -- all of five minutes at the most!) but had countless pointless montages and side-bits. I really wanted to see "Man or Muppet" performed!
me too! I wondered why they weren't performed, I thought it was odd.
