Husband's Birthday

Hey ladies, I need your help. Last year for my husband's birthday we had a low key dinner with family since it was a week before the wedding. This year, the week after his birthday, we're celebrating our 1st anniversary and babymoon at the same b&b we stayed at for our honeymoon. And I'm worried that with everything going on he'll feel like his birthday isn't important. So I'd like to do something nice for him but I'm not sure what and funds are slightly limited. Thoughts?

Re: Husband's Birthday

  • Maybe save up for a nice dinner somewhere near the B&B?

If money is tight, you don't need to do anything elaborate.  Make a special packed dinner and bring it to eat on your first night (or call a local restaurant and have them pack up a picnic).  Go to a romantic place - a park or beach.

Maybe make a scrapbook or photobook of the past year?  Include photos of him and his friends so it's not an anniversary present.

I don't know what you mean by babymoon....is the baby with you?  Did you conceive a child that night?

  • I like SueBear's suggestions. I would give my own but I, too, am curious as to what a babymoon is?
  • A babymoon is when you go on a trip while pregnant as your last hurrah as a child-less couple

Ooooh this makes sense! I was imagining some sort of celebration of the day of conception or something which made me side-eye. Side eye retracted completely.

  • So, in the past year, he's had a birthday, wedding, honeymoon, and baby announcement ...  and STILL needs a super-special-just-for-me important moment?

Really? I'm sure you're just being nice, but it's been a big year - is THIS the best year to stake his birthday celebration? It seems a bit much. Overdone.

My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.
  • so do something on his birthday and dont combine it with the stuff the week later.
Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:

Unless he's 12, I would think a card would suffice.

  • Is there a gift that he's been wanting?
