Anyone use one of these? Do they really work? I have been making LO a lot of clothes recently, but I don't have a serger, so I've been zigzagging all my raw edges. I really want something to seal all the raw edges a bit better, and saw one of these on Amazon, but the reviews are mixed.

Re: Rolled hem presser foot
I have one that came with my machine. The one I have is only intended to a single raw edge, so it wouldn't be useful in finishing a seam.
I'll be honest...maybe it is just me, but that is the foot that gives me the most trouble. I pretty much never use it.
If you want a nicer way to finish a seam, might I suggest french seams?

I like my rolled hem foot, but I think it would be a pita to use to finish seams.
I have never used one, but I have seen 'serger' type feet that trim, that are for use with regular sewing machines.
I couldn't find a trimming foot that fits my machine, but would something like this be useful for finishing edges and seams?

I think as long as your machine has an overlock stitch, it would be a nice foot to have. I hate the way the overlock stitch on my machine looks, but I think a foot like this would make it work better, because it would hold it flatter.
I use mine all the time. I've found the key is that you need to use the same color thread that your fabric is. If it is a patterned fabric use the one that blends in the most.
What kind of seam are you looking to finishing with it?
