Hi everyone,
I have been lurking for over a year now but whatever reason have never introduce myself. I am trauma ICU RN and working on my masters in nursing education. I have been married for over 3 year to a fellow RN. In high school I use to swim and weight train but then I went to college and didn't continue those hobbies. I started running about a year ago and this May I will be doing my first Mini Marathon. Along with running, I started calorie counting with my hubby and started focusing on clean eating or well cleaner eating. About a month ago I start to seriously weight train again and I am loving it.
I want to thank everyone for all the great information that has be shared in the past on this board. I do have a question: for those who work long hours and do not have set days off such as nursing, how to do you manage a training schedule for running or lifting? Any suggestions or advice would be awesome!
Re: Since I have been lurking for over a year I better say Hi
I don't have any advice as to your schedule, but I wanted to say hi and welcome!
Can you tell me what a Mini Marathon is?

My husband is a nurse and he just loosely plans around his schedule. He works 12 hour shifts so on the days that he works he doesn't really have time to work out. But then he has 4ish days off. Some weeks he works out more then others it all depends on his schedule. I think the main thing is to be flexible.
We're doing the "New rule of lifting for women" program. Its a book and it lays out workout plans for 6 months. It has you working out 3 days a week. I really enjoy it and DH has been able to work it in to his schedule nicely.
Good luck on your half!
