This morning, there was a shooting at a high school about an hour from here---1 dead, 4 injured and at the hospital. Shooter turned himself in to a bystander after being chased out of the school by a teacher.
My heart aches for the victims
And I've said it before, and I'll say it again...this world is going crazy. I cannot stand to watch the news anymore. Seems like everytime I turn around, there's been another senseless killing.

Re: School shooting :(
Life of mrsjanks
It seems his home life was pretty messed up, too (aside from school bullies). His parents divorced 10 years ago and his dad has since been charged with attempted murder, aggrevated assualt, etc.
I can't stand reading stories about bullying, and then this being the result. It's awful.
The statements that they're making today is that it had nothing to do with bullying. His victims were random.
Stories like this are devastating and as I type I have tears in my eyes from watching an interview with one of the families on tv. Bullying is blamed all too often, though. Some kids have issues that stem from their homes and some kids lash out in response to being bullied, but there are other kids out there who for whatever reason romanticize things like what this kid did yesterday. They think about how powerful doing something like that would make them and decide to do it without really being mature enough to think rationally about it. It's sad and scary.
Yeah, I just read about that this afternoon (about it not being from bullying, but random). Initially, it was saying he was bullied. Either way, it's awful. Three students have now died, one is still in critical condition, and one is in stable condition. It's heartbreaking and I hate that this is the kind of world my kids will grow up in.
