London - restaurant rec in Nottinghill?

For dinner?  Thanks

Re: London - restaurant rec in Nottinghill?

  • It's Notting Hill (just so you know). I would suggest the Notting Hill Brasserie or the Lonsdale.  And if you are going to be in that area, I would also suggest this London Walk...it was one of my favourites (Notting Hill and Portobello Market walk)!

  • One of my favorite places to eat in London is just a couple of tube stops away on the Central Line. It's called Zayna's and is a Northern Indian/Pakistani style restaurant. It has a Michelin star, but it's still really family focused and I see kids in there all the time. Here's the website:  http://www.zaynarestaurant.co.uk/. I'd recommend a booking for a weekend night.

    Oops, sorry!

Thanks.  Any suggestions for other places that would have a kids menu that would be a little more casual/less nice, lol.  I mean it from the thought that we will be going there towards the end of a 10 day trip with a 5yo and 3yo, I think we will need something that will feel casual for the kids.  Don't get me wrong, they can behave fairly well in restaurants but for the most part we are trying to to keep this trip low key with eating, while still experiencing non-American food.

  • A great chain is Giraffe (on iPhone so can't give link) or Wagamama would be kid friendly.  Those are two that come to mind, but I'll ask around.  Honestly any pub would work as there are always kids at pubs, even later in the evening, and no one minds.

  • belgo is also family friendly. i think there was one near ladbroke grove tube, while not notting hill it's not that far. there's also one in covent garden.

and ditto ukyankee, most pubs are very kid friendly. i miss england. *sigh*

  • Another one is Sticky Fingers.  And yes, Belgo is fabulous and really cool - the kids might love seeing all the waiters dressed up as monks.  (I usually go to the one in Covent Garden).
