Diaper bags?

Has anyone sewn their own diaper bag? I picked up a pattern today but I'd appreciate any tips

I made mine. I plan to make another for this baby too.
What pattern are you using? I picked up a $0.99 Butterick pattern and just dove in. It was my first time using a pattern, so I can see lots of mistakes.
I ended up adding another strip of velcro to the front because it never closed where they wanted me to put the velcro. I wish it had an adjustable strap, since MH is a foot taller than me.
When you go to sew the lining in and then turn it and topstitch, depending on what fabric you've chosen and what interfacing the pattern recommends, you'll end up with a pretty thick sandwich. Don't worry, it's totally normal.
We might have the same pattern. It sort of looks like a messenger bag?

With the next one I'm trying to decide between magnetic clasps up higher (above the front pocket) and just putting a 1" strip of velcro at the top of the bag like I did on my first one.

I added stroller straps too. Webbing plus buckles stitched inside the top of the bag.
And kind of a random pic of my daughter at 6 months, but you can see what my bag looked like loaded. And the second place I put the velcro.

Yup, exact same pattern. I read a review last night where a woman used canvas instead of the fleece, I think I'm going to try that. It seems like it would wash better. Some wonder under should do the trick to attach the canvas to the peices needed and provide the structure. Now just to find the fabric I want
I like the idea of the magnetic clasp, I might look into that too

I used a similar pattern from Simplicity. I highly recommend using a magnetic clasp instead of the velcro. Works much better. And be sure the fabric you?re choosing doesn?t frey. I chose some fun decorator fabric, but it hasn?t held up well.
I interfaced the lining and the outer to get a stiffer bag since I wanted mine to stand up. Made it harder to put together, but gave the bag more body.
