So...this trip this weekend just happens to be in a town with a FWB who has asked to meet up. And now that K's out of the picture, and given our past encounters, I don't really think I'll be declining his invitation. ![]()
Unfortunately, however, I took the last week of my active pills in my extended regimen BC last week, and was supposed to start my placebo pills yesterday. Being the (not so) intelligent person that I am, I decided I would try and skip my withdrawal bleed this time around (in favor of sexy time), and went straight to the next pill pack. Lo and behold, however, I had some spotting today.
I've spoken with a nurse, and she tells me that I can either (a) go ahead and keep taking the next set of active pills and keep my fingers crossed that there won't be any more spotting OR switch to the placebo pills for the rest of this week, get the withdrawal bleed out of the way, and then restart the active pills next week. My withdrawal bleeds are never very heavy or long (usually three day of light bleeding) but there's always a chance that something weird will happen. No bad health issues will result either way, and no chance of "oopses" either way.
So...what would you do? Keep going with the active pills and hope the spotting was just a fluke and won't interfere with possible sexy times this weekend, or start taking the placebos and keep your fingers crossed that the withdrawal bleed comes and goes quickly?

Re: WWYD? (Warning: TMI bcp post)
I would just stick with the active pills. I did something similar to this two packs ago, but instead of skipping the placebo week, I switched the type of pill I was taking during the last active week and started on day one of the new pack. I had really light spotting for 4-5 days and then everything returned to normal.
Hmm, when I tried to skip I spotted for like a month. Is your pill mono or triphasic? That might make a difference... although I'm not sure the difference it would make. Regardless, I never had luck skipping so I'd vote bleed it out over a month of spotting.
Mono - trying w/ tri will almost ALWAYS lead to spotting.
I'm just concerned because the last time I tried to skip, I did have very prolonged spotting (like months long), but that was when I first started retaking Seasonale, so... Even though, I'm kind of leading towards just getting it over with. Decisions, decisions....

This!
I'm in this camp...I've never had luck skipping, but I can push it a day or two in either direction by taking some of the next pack's pills before I start the placebo week or saving one or two of the previous week's pills to use before I start the next pack.
Keep taking the active and chance the spotting. I wouldn't want to mess up the order of pills by going back to placebos.
