I went to the ENT today, and he scoped my nose, throat, ears, etc. He said that I have a nasty sinus infection. It's possible that I've had it since I got really sick in late Oct. It may have gone to subclinical (err...think that's the term for no symptoms but still there. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.) and then come back with symptoms the other two times I've caught a cold. The doctor said that there is a lot of evidence of a nasty bacterial infection, lots of inflammation, and a "river" of mucus. I left his office with NINE prescriptions! I start taking 6 of them now, and possibly the other 3 in a week if I am not doing better by then. He said my lungs were clear.
I go back in 2 weeks for a CAT scan to make sure there are no polyps, nasal deformities like a deviated septum, etc. and for a follow up appt. The neat thing is that the CAT scan is onsite, so he reads it and goes over it with you in the same appointment.
At the same time, he never told me I couldn't ride or exercise!
I know better than to ride hard with how I feel, but I think an easy trainer ride in a day or two may be called for....
Re: The diagnosis is...
Thankfully, no, not as far as I know. I had a nasty, nasty migraine Sunday night and got sick with the initial cold/virus on Monday. However, Sunday a pressure system with rain moved through, and those are one of my big triggers. I don't think the migraine was related. I'm pretty sure I caught the cold/virus at work since everyone has been sick.
I can breathe ok except when I cough. I may/may not have done 40 miles yesterday on the bike.

Subclinical = Sub- prefix meaning below, Clinic root word meaning clinic, -al suffix meaning pertaining to
Subclinical = pertaining to under the clinic detection
