Re: You have got to be kidding me!!!!

  • That sucks! Navy Federal has been having some real issues lately, and H's USAA had fraudulent charges on it last summer. It's the pits, he was on the phone forever.

  • Thats crazy. I hope you guys can figure it out. Is there anyway you can dispute the charge? If you don't mind me asking

There is.  We have to write a letter to the bank but it could take up to 10 days to get the money back.  In the mean time they have to cancel DH's card so he's poor until they can send him a new one.  Guess I'm sending a box tomorrow.

  • I just got an email confirming I won a $1.5 million Nigerian lottery.  I could totally lend you some cash to get you through the next week or so.

    Seriously though that blows.

  • H's navy fed number got stolen recently, however we caught it before the bank did since it was only for $140. We had to wait for the charge to process, then they refunded it and then we filled out the fraud form.  It was annoying though.

  • Dang. I wish I could help. I have noticed money not being in our account as well and not being in the transaction history. I wasn't really worried because it was only a few dollars here and there but two weeks ago over $50 went out the door. I am scared to leave anything in the account because it might not be there when I check. I really hope this gets straight for you guys

I agree if this is a regular occurrence.

Seriously.  Why haven't you done anything about it?

  • And Sammy, I'm sorry.  That's frustrating.  Hope it all gets straightened out soon.

  • I am sending P in when he makes his car payment to talk to them and get it straight. If it continues we are switching everything to my old account. We just wanted to make sure we weren't doing it and not seeing it

  • See thats what I thought. I admit I wasn't paying as much attention before and I was still seeing a little bit here and there. Then when that last money evaporated I started looking through our transaction history and adding everything up for each pay since Jan. and it was coming up short like I had thought. I have been trying to think of every possible reason for it to be gone and I have nothing so when P goes in Saturday he will ask whats going on
  • This has happened to us before both with Navy Fed and BofA. The charge either comes up overseas, somewhere in Europe or a state we both have never been in! Hope you get it straightened out soon, I know it sucks!

I'm sorry, this makes no sense to me though. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. But even fraudulent charges show as transactions, you're just disputing the fact that you authorized them. I'm shocked you wouldn't have called or gone to talk to someone as soon as you noticed whatever's going on.

  • I don't know how to explain my thinking in this. I get this from my mom where instead of taking action right after something happens I will watch to make sure it is actually happening and not something I am doing. It makes no sense but it has saved me from jumping the gun a couple times
  • I add up everything that we take out of the account and what we use the card on then against what his pay is and what was already in the account. Then double check it by comparing it to the transaction history
