Apps- live strong vs. my fitness pal?

Does anyone use these apps? I am borderline diabetic, so I really need to track my diet, especially my carb intake. I need something that will give me my true carb intake (where I can deduct dietary fiber from the carb totals).

Either way, if you can tell me what makes these apps different, that would be great!

Re: Apps- live strong vs. my fitness pal?

  • I have the Livestrong App and I do like it but I don't know if it's the right thing for you. It doesn't tell you how many carbs you're taking it. You just put in what you ate and it gives you a caloric number for it.

  • I have my fitness pal. It's ok, but was not doing exactly what I needed, so I used Daily Tracker to create my own list for tracking. It's great, but does not include a database of foods etc. I know the values and am more concerned with keeping track of them, so it works for me. If you want something that will tell you about the carbs you're consuming, this might not work for you.

  • I havent dowloaded the app yet but on the website it gives you a breakdown of carbs/fat/protein in a pie chart. I personally love it better than MFP. You don't have to guess which one is the actual thing you ate.

  • Sparkpeople.com will also track those things for you, if you don't like Livestrong or MFP.
Always be yourself. Unless you suck.
