Re: B&M Monday
I know! It's crazy I tried all day Friday.
How was book club Saturday?

I tried all day Friday too.
We have found our flooring company. We're going with All American Flooring. We're using the one in Lewisville but they have other branches. They came in $1600 less than the people we were originally going to go with AND that includes the two smaller bedrooms that I originally wanted to do. Saturday, we had in Empire and, while they had the floor I liked best, their prices were awful. We picked a floor that was part of the buy one room, get two free promotion and they were $1000 more than our first quote and $2600 more than the company we're going to use. Not to mention that it was a very high pressure sales pitch and Bill did not appreciate that at all. Lowe's came out that afternoon, but I don't think we'll use them now. Yesterday, my brother came over to help repair the bathroom paint job that Bill did last year. It was think in some spots and need some cleaning up. Well, Clark took one look at it and said "I'm going to have to start all over." So, we ended up buying another $350 in paint. I'm not going with the color we have in there right now (a beautiful but fairly dark red) but three blues. He's going to do that on Thursday and he's going to paint our dining room too--just an accent wall. In that room, there's a half way for the entry into the dining room, a wall with windows, the wall with the china cabinet on it and the wall that we're going to paint.
Ugh, yesterday flew by too fast. Saturday night we went and watched "We Bought a Zoo", it was cute. And who can resist Matt Damon?
Marcus is home sick
It's 'fitting' though- between the two of us we've been sick 99% of this month so why miss the last week?
I'm eating my cereal with a fork, which is much better than a knife. If that is all I forgot today, I will be happy.
Getting home from Terrell took 2.5 hours on Saturday when it normally takes 1 hour. There was one hold up in Dallas and then one of the hold up's in Lewisville was because there was a couple walking on the train tracks with a train coming.
We had to mow our jungle of a yard yesterday and every time I mess with the yard, the same area in my hand acts up. I don't know what I'm going to cause it either.
J did not get the job with Dallas PD. He was SO bummed all weekend - like, more depressed than I have ever seen him. Hello, square one.
I meant to ask you on Saturday about your Tempur-Pedic pillow you always rave about. Which one do you have? I recently started using the neck one because I'm having problems with my neck but it doesn't help at all.
Julie - Congrats on finding a great deal! Did you take and pictures?
Jaymi - Sorry your husband has been sick. At first I thought you were saying he was homesick and I was trying to remember when you said he was traveling.
Angie - Sorry to hear he didn't get the job!
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home D
Oh Angie, I am so, so sorry! I know how badly ya'll were hoping this would be it! Does he know why?
Julie, that is great news about the floor quote. Glad you guys got it figured out. Be sure and take pics!
Deepthi, it was just me, Angie and Jaymi but we had a great visit and a nice discussion--even though they didn't finish the book, amazingly, we were still able to talk about it after I told them what happened!
I have done nothing but drop, spill and run into things today--it is crazy. I have no idea what is wrong with me.
I was very underwhelmed by the Oscars last night. The dresses were pretty much duds. I love Billy Crystal though. It was like he never left--which is both a good thing and a bad thing.
I am hoping for a easier work week--last week was nuts!

I will take pictures of all the befores and the afters too. We won't be doing the flooring until either during or after my Spring Break (2-3 weeks). We're using this opportunity to get rid of things, get a storage unit (which I still don't think is a good idea--it forces my husband to get rid of nothing!), and get the breakables packed in the dining room. After all the flooring is done, then we have to put together some furniture too. Yay!
Also, I forgot: I spent most of Saturday continuing to organize my part of our closet. Bill had an old empty TV stand in our room and I filled it with clothes that never got put away (most t-shirt from school). So he bought me a closet wire shelf from Lowe's and I filled it with t-shirts. I still have some stuff that doesn't have a home, but we're replacing the TV stand with a set of drawers that will double as the holder for our cable and DVD player stand in the bed room. I feel very accomplished about this one because this is one room that we never really had together after I moved in. For the first month I lived with Bill, I had clothes in two trash bags on the bedroom floor. The "box room" is next for me--it's mainly my stuff that never really found a home. As soon as I clear out the boxes, we can clean that room out too. Until the adoption happens, I'm going to use it as a craft room and I'm going to have a purple accent wall. I live purple.
Angie,
I'm sorry to hear about J not getting the job, especially since I just heard them announce that they needed new officers.
Jaymi,
Eating a cereal with a fork is definitely better than with a knife!
Angie, I didn't know your DH was applying to the Dallas PD. Brad's dad, aunt, and grandfather were all, or still, a part of the police force. I wish I would have known so I could have given them a call. Does he know why he didn't get the job?
The interview just didn't go well. It's very intense, lots of yelling, and he said he just got nervous and couldn't give them the answers they wanted fast enough. We're kind of at a reset point in figuring out where to apply next.
Angie - I'm so sorry y'all didn't get good news. I'll be praying that God will make the next step VERY clear for you.
I'm absolutely drowning in my workload this week. I wasn't planning to do anything but work, but Mack came in and saw me scowling from stress and demanded that I take 15 minutes to play on the internet... I love that man. He takes such good care of me. I feel better already!
My bestie's wedding on Saturday was such fun. I worked for 15.5 hours on Saturday and was up at 7 a.m. working on the pictures Sunday morning, but it's all worth it. She's so happy... I'm jealous that she's currently on the beach in Costa Rica!
Also, Mack and I started the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge yesterday! I don't normally buy into this sort of stuff, but we got a killer deal on it because one of our former brides is a rep for AdvoCare. I'm 25 pounds away from my goal weight, so there's no way this will take care of ALL that, but they say the average weight loss over 24 days is 10 pounds... I'll take it! It's definitely been good for curbing my appetite. The fiber drink is pretty rough, but fills me up, so it's doing it's job.
Do any of you have any experience with AdvoCare?
I've never heard of it, Chelsea. I can't wait to see the rest of the wedding -- but can I just say I cannot believe the bride scheduled an outdoor wedding at the end of February? Didn't anyone try to talk her out of it?
My allergies are kicking my booty today.
Angie--yelling? At an interview? Ugh, sounds brutal! I'm with Chelsea in that I will be praying for God's discernment.

Oh yes, believe me.
But there was actually some extenuating circumstances... they'd originally planned for mid-April, but the bride's dad is an artist and got commissioned to do a huge life-size bronze sculpture for the Boston Marathon on their original wedding date. By the time they found out, Mack and I were completely booked for March/April/May, so they just picked the latest possible Saturday. They had a really cool tent and some chiminea heaters on stand-by in case we needed them, but gosh, I'm so glad the weather played nice.
Ah, Ok, that makes me feel better! It looks beautiful and I can't wait to see more!
I am not a fan of supplements, diet plans, etc. To me, a healthy diet and exercise is the way to go. And when that fails, then there is no one to blame but myself.

Chelsea - One of the doctor's I know sold it and it's like most other things from what I know. It'll help at first, but you can gain it back. Like most other things. I hope it works well for you!
Edit: Stephanie - did you guys decide about April book club? Location or book?
<a href="http://www.thenest.com/?utm_source=ticker&utm_medium=HTML&utm_campaign=tickers" title="Home D
No, we didn't discuss April since it was just the three of us. Jaymi has already read our March book though and loved it!

Julie - I'm glad you found someone to do your floor!! Can't wait to see pics!
Angie - I'm so sorry about J not getting the job.
Hopefully something will come up soon!
Chelsea - I have no idea what yall have on your schedule this week, but my friend that coaches high school baseball said they have games all day on Wednesday at the Ballpark in Arlington...just in case you have anyone that wants use the inside for that thing you do when you're not doing anything else.
I am putting in my one month notice THIS week for work. I keep putting it off so I just need to suck it up and do it! I am going to be so busy for the next month at work so I might be a little MIA for a bit.
So are you guys getting ready to move?
I am eating cereal for lunch. It just sounded good for some reason!

Well we are still looking at houses but I'm really hoping to find one soon! I hope to be moved by the second week of April.
I see nothing wrong with this. I had cereal for dinner last night.

Jaymi - I just have a regular shaped/sized pillow, but it's the Tempurpedic. I didn't know they had different kinds. I sleep on my side, and it has just the right amount of firmness for me without being too firm. I used to get tension headaches from my neck pretty bad, and it's sooo much better now.
I bought a Tempurpedic type pillow from Ikea and I really like it. It seems to do what the real ones do but they were only $15. You could give that a try. I may break down and buy a real one at some point though.
Angie,
When you say you used to get tension headaches was it like pain in your neck? I have been struggling with that a little recently but I've also gotten headaches from bad pillows. Just wondering.
Since getting home, I have typed up a vocabulary list, four worksheets and done a load of laundry and I only got home at 7 PM and it's a little after nine. I might be bored.
