mommy's zipfu is the best zipfu
i kind of feel mean for telling this story, but it also fills me with mirth, so it has to be told.
yesterday we were getting ready to leave the house and derek was helping alison with her 'soft jacket'. sometimes zippering her jacket is a mild challenge for him. understandably, since it's not second nature to zip something from the outside, kwim?
but apparently his struggle has not been lost on alison. while he was working on it, alison cut him off.
"Mommy will show you! Mommy will show you daddy!" and then she turned her belly in my direction.
sigh. i did show him.
but in fairness, when she pulled that this morning, he showed her that he could do it too. yay!

Andy told me that daddy will fix the drain in our bathtub (the little popper thing doesn't work right). I said, "okay, sure." But then, I put a temporary fix on it. Andy was all, "YOU fixed the drain??" So now, I am the fixer of all things in the house.

I am pretty darn biased, but I think if you all didn't hate me she would have a shot. I am just glad she looks more like her father.
