Birthday Party Ideas

I'm trying to come up with some cute themes for B's 2nd birthday party, (just immediate family and some close frends) but I can't decide on anything.

So far I have come up with Minnie Mouse, Rapunzle (she loves the movie Tangled), rainbows or alphabet. Do you ladies have any other ideas or suggestions for any thing I can do for those themes? Maybe any cute childrens books I can use? I don't want to do Dr Suess or Very Hungry Catapillar as friends have already done them.

I know I have plenty of time seeing as how she is 20 months but I really want to get a head start on things this time. TIA!

Re: Birthday Party Ideas

  • I've been doing a lot of looking into party ideas. Even though DD is only 16 months, hers and DS birthdays are 2 months apart and I tend to go all out, even for small family parties. With that being said, I have decided to base her 2nd birthday on one of her favorite books which is called Under the Sea, but it's about a whale's birthday. She loves that book and is also really interested in all sea life, so it fits.

I also considered the rainbow theme and an alphabet theme, but I wanted to do something that I know DD would like. I think there are so many cute ideas that go along with either one of those. Not sure if you're on Pinterest, but I know I've seen a lot on there. DD also loves Rapunzle (Tangled), but I didn't want to do that as a theme since her first birthday was Princess and the Frog.

  • We're doing Barney with rented costume and all because M is obsessed and her cousins love him, too. Other ideas are Curious George which she likes now, too. Strawberry Shortcake, Tinkerbell.

  • How about a Bee theme?

You already call her Brynnie Bee.

You could do cupcakes with yellow icing and black lines for bees.

After a quick google I found games like: Get that stinger; Pin the bee on the hive; Don't wake the bee; Musical bees; Bee toss and other decor items:
