Talking (or not talking) everyday with new BF?

Do you think it?s odd to not talk everyday if you have been dating someone for almost 2 months? We started dating in early January and we see each other 3-5X a week since our first date (he lives 2 miles from me so it is convenient). We have done an overnight trip once too. We don?t talk every day though. I just wonder if that is weird. For example- we just spent the entire weekend together, but we didn?t talk at all yesterday- no texts or emails either.

We have also not had the BF/GF discussion yet, which is fine with me.  I highly doubt there is anyone else in the picture since we spend so much time together and he has intro'd me to his friends, etc.

TIA!

  • Do you want to talk to him every day? I think it's totally dependent on the person / people in the relationship. Some people need to have contact every day, some people seem fine without it. I say it's most important for you to be happy with it :)

ETA: FWIW, I always seem to talk to my guy at least once a day, even if it's just a funny txt or saying hi. I think it's nice!

  • I guess it all depends on what you are comfortable with.  If I had been dating someone for two months I would probably be into them enough to WANT to at least home some sort of communication every day.  But if you are ok with less frequent contact there's nothing wrong with that either.  It sounds like you're taking things slowly (given that you've been seeing eachother quite awhile and haven't had the exclusive talk yet) so maybe this is just a symptom of things progressing slowly.  Nothing wrong with that!

I don't know your situation but I have a DS and especially if future bf has child or children himself, I rather take things slowly.  I want our lives to graduly blend in so I know that I am not entering into a serious relationships in a clouded state.  That would be something that would make me more comfortable.  It is different for everyone.

If you do want to talk everyday, that is your needs which is very important and you should be able to freely express them.  I would want to be in a relationship with someone who cares and meet my needs.  The only way the bf would know is if you tell him.  If you are able to express your needs, that means you love yourself well and you are able to love others.
