I feel like it's been since the dark ages since I've been on an airplane. DH and I are heading to Turks & Caicos on Saturday and I need a refresher on what I can take on the plane. We're only going for 5 days but he is a scuba diver so he's debating taking his stuff, will have to be checked. We are flying USAir so that's $25 for checked luggage, just for that bag. I could send my toiletries in his scuba bag but my question is, I have a 7oz bottle of hair heat protector that only has about 2oz of product left in it, do they just look at the size of the bottle or how much is in it? I'm trying to decide what to take as a carry-on (as much as possible).
Thanks for any advice!
Re: Haven't flown in 5 years
Nope, the 7oz bottle with 2oz left won't work. The bottles have to be 3.4oz or less. They don't mess with the half-empty, mostly empty stuff.
Here is the TSA rule on liquids. http://www.tsa.gov/311/
go and buy yourself a small spray bottle. why would you carry a 3/4 empty huge bottle with you in the first place LOL
they cannot take time to determine what amount of product is in people's bottles.
3.4oz marked bottles of any gels and liquids (or smaller marked containers) all go in a quart sized ziplock bag for carry on. or just check a suitecase and throw them in there.
