are there any food groups you avoid to feel good?
The post below about dairy got me thinking.. Are there any food groups (not individual items) that you tend to avoid because you don't feel good when you eat them? I know some people don't do well with dairy or wheat products, what, if anything do you avoid because it makes you feel worse?

Re: are there any food groups you avoid to feel good?
I try to stay away from processed condiments, especially ones like soy and hot sauces because they upset my stomach.
People who don't do well with dairy maybe be lactose intolerant and people who avoid wheat may have celiac disease.

I don't, because I believe everything is ok in moderation. I did track macronutrients for a while and did the low carb/high protein thing during a round and a half of P90X, but while everyone else seems to say that dropping/limiting carbs made them feel better, I didn't get that.
The only thing I really limit myself with is alcohol, because I feel like it dehydrates me. I try to limit that to once or twice a week.

I try to avoid salty foods if possible. I just feel like I have to drink twice as much water afterwards and I always feel dehydrated. I hate that feeling!
I think the key is everything in moderation.
However, I don't eat much meat. I was a vegetarian for 10 years. Being a pre-vet major did that to several classmates and myself. To this day, I cannot stomach the thought of eating beef or pork. I occasionally eat poultry, maybe twice a month eating out. I hate seafood (ick! ick! ick!) but having nothing against it.
I try to avoid HFCS, but I can't say that it is because it makes me feel bad. It's one thing I can focus on to cut out some sugar. I'll also avoid a few foods that trigger my GERD (like some Campbells condensed soups) and a few that I'm allergic to in order to avoid hives (lentils, chickpeas).

I don't eat gluten because I have celiac disease and I limit dairy or I have gas issues.
I also don't eat meat but not for health reasons.
I don't eat grains, legumes (beans, soy, peanuts), and dairy.
I had tacos with cheese last night (went out to a Mexican place with friends) with black beans on the side and I feel gross today. This is the first time I've had such foods in combination in months and I am seriously paying for it.

I won't/can't eat anything fried. Doesn't matter if I make it at home, eat it at a high-end restaurant, or buy fries from the drive-through ... fried foods just DO NOT make my stomach happy.
We have also stopped eating refined grains and sugars, and I noticed a HUGE improvement in my energy level when we did that.
I am allergic to wheat, (I do not have celiac disease) so I started out avoiding wheat. Then it became easier to just go gluten free completely. Now, after 3 years, I completely avoid all convience foods. If I can't make it from scratch at home, we pretty much don't eat it. And I still don't eat gluten.
I also limit dairy, however cheese is what seems to really screw with me. I still drink milk and will do a yogurt every now and then, but no cheese.
