shorts for CF?

hi ladies, i've been crossfitting since december.  i've been wearing tight capris, but the weather is warming up and i'd like to invest in a few pairs shorts for cf.  can you recommend the shorts you wear?  i really like the type of shorts the girls wear in the cf games.  tia!!

Re: shorts for CF?

  • I'm no help yet. I started crossfit so that someday I might be able to wear shorts without my inner thighs catching on fire from the chub rub. *sigh*

  • I have some Champion running shorts I got at Target that I like.  They have kind of a flat seam at the top instead of tight elastic.

I also have some tight shorts that I got at REI . . . again, with the flat seam at the top.

Drawstrings are a MUST for CrossFit.

A lot of women at our gym wear the short lululemon ones, but I just can't justify spending that.

  • I wear shorts that are the tight compression type ones so that they don't ride up and are tight around the leg so that you can not see my crotch when doing sit ups, etc (like could happen with looser running shorts).

My favorite ones are the Presto Short from Athleta. They are also my fav long run shorts too.

  • I love the Target shorts for running but I can't squat in them so the only ones I've been able to use are the Nike tempo ones. They aren't the greatest looking ones but they work for me. I'm still on the hunt for ones that don't cost a fortune, I can squat in and I look decent in. Still looking.

  • I'm a major Lulu fan for shorts. I wear the turbo run shorts and knock out shorts. I bought them because of their length initially. I'm feeling a little more confident with my legs now and am thinking of switching to the shorter version.
