workout suggestions

I work 14-16 hours/day, usually 6 days/week. Then I usually have 1-2 hours of reading to do when I get home. I really need to get back in shape and could use some advice. I had a slower schedule over the past 8 weeks, and took advantage of the extra free time to get back to where I can run 1-2 miles without dying. Now I'm back to a physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausting work schedule and am trying to come up with a plan to not lose momentum. I have a treadmill at home and a gym membership at a bare-bones type of gym (no classes, trainers, etc.; just the equipment). Should I do 30-40 minutes of cardio with 20-30 minutes of strength training 4 days per week (alternating upper and lower body workout)? Or should I try to do a full hour of cardio 3 days per week, and a full body strength workout a different 2 days per week? I could stand to lose a few pounds, but my primary goal is to get back in shape. Any suggestions would be great!
