Weight Watchers

Who has done WW before or is currently doing it?  Was it successful?  I just signed up online.  My sister's boyfriend has been doing it for 5 months and has already lost 45lbs so he convinced me to give it a try.

Re: Weight Watchers

  • Good Luck. My MIL is doing it.
  • DO IT!  DH started it a few days after Christmas and has lost 22 lbs so far.  I know he wishes it were more, but the way I see it WW is promoting a lifestyle and not really a diet, if that makes sense.  You can still eat and enjoy whatever you want, you are just more accountable for it.  Sometimes I am amazed at how many or how few points some of our regular meals have.  If you are worried about being hungry stock up on fruits and veggies.  DH has learned to really like carrots since he's been on the plan (he used to hate them).  You do have to still be careful to not go overboard on fruit even though it is free.  DH goes to meetings though, he feels that he needs that accountability.  If you find the online doesn't work perfectly you might want to try a meeting.  I love being able to help him keep track of stuff on our smartphones, it makes things so much easier.

I totally plan on doing it if I have trouble losing my baby weight after the baby is born.

  • Woohoo for your husband, Christie!  That's great; and 22lbs since Christmas is a lot of weight.  I started it yesterday so hopefully it goes well.

  • Xan-if you follow me on Pinterest, check out my "Done and Done" board.  I try to add point plus values to things I make after I try them.  I need to go back and add it to a few of the recipes we've tried.  I also have to type in the substitutions I make because we always use whole wheat pastas and reduced fat cheeses.

  • Very cool Christie...I'll have to check it out :)

  • Good luck Xan!

I'm not on WW now, but have done it in the past and it certainly works.  Plus, I agree that it's a good program because it teaches you a lifestyle, rather than putting you on a strict, unrealistic diet.

Oh Christie that's awesome. I'll have to check out your board. Although I'm not on WW, I am trying to eat healthier. So if you give a thumbs up to a healthy meal I'll be more willing to try it.

That is amazing!!!  Don't get discouraged though when it plateaus later on.  I had to be a cheerleader for DH when this started to happen.  A loss is a loss no matter how big or small.  Keep that in mind.  You are off to a fantastic start though.  I am amazed by how well WW works.
