Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

PR: DOF Submissions!

So for the past few weeks we've been exploring the use of Depth of Field in our images.  Let's see the submissions!

Up next:

Leading Lines

Leading Lines draw the viewers eye to the subject and/or around the photo. A leading line can be almost anything: a wall, a road, a path or walk, a fence, a water edge, etc.

You will not find a strong leading line in every composition and it's not always necessary, but you should look for them as you are composing your picture.  This shoudl encourage you to shoot from variout angles.  Lines in a picture should lead into the frame, not out of it, and they should lead your eye toward the main subject.

For extra aesthetic power, place leading lines along the rule of thirds!
