Divergent: Tris

How does initiation change and transform Tris?

Do you think she made the right faction choice? How do you think she might have changed if she had chosen one of the other factions?

During initiation, is it selfish of Tris to crave victory, or is it brave?

Do Tris?s friends have a right to be jealous when she?s ranked above them?

If you were Tris, would you forgive them for their reactions?

At the beginning of the book, Tris does not understand what it means to be Divergent. How do you think she would explain it by the end of the book?

Re: Divergent: Tris

  • How does initiation change and transform Tris?I think she becomes more secure in who she is and what she believes. Before she was just trying to be what she was supposed to be, but at the end she seemed more comfortable being what she was.

Do you think she made the right faction choice? How do you think she might have changed if she had chosen one of the other factions? I think so. I actually don't think she would have made it through initiation in the other factions.

During initiation, is it selfish of Tris to crave victory, or is it brave? Neither? I think it's some of the erudite in her to crave to be the best she can be.

Do Tris?s friends have a right to be jealous when she?s ranked above them?I think jealousy is natural, so sure. It's all about how you handle it. You can be jealous, but still he happy for someone.

If you were Tris, would you forgive them for their reactions? Probably.

At the beginning of the book, Tris does not understand what it means to be Divergent. How do you think she would explain it by the end of the book? I think she would explain it kind of like Four did. She wants to be and is supposed to be all those things, not just one.

I pretty much agree with this word for word.

How does initiation change and transform Tris? She becomes more confident.

Do you think she made the right faction choice? How do you think she might have changed if she had chosen one of the other factions? Yes. Without knowing the inner workings of the other factions, I think they would have been easier for her. I think Dauntless was challenging for her, but the right the choice.

During initiation, is it selfish of Tris to crave victory, or is it brave? Both? Or neither. Frankly, if she didn't crave victory, she may not have survived initiation.

Do Tris?s friends have a right to be jealous when she?s ranked above them? Sure, it's only human.

If you were Tris, would you forgive them for their reactions? Yes, b/c I am sure she felt the same way. No one wants to be last, even if they know they deserve it ;)

At the beginning of the book, Tris does not understand what it means to be Divergent. How do you think she would explain it by the end of the book? Like Jo said.
