This show is growing on me I think! But I am a bit confused...
Why does Debra Messing's character hate Tom's assistant? I saw that he stole her notebook in a previous episode, but missed anything that happened after that.
Katherine McPhee is great in this show...she has moves too! Who knew! Ivy seems like she's going to go all psycho diva on everyone. Looking forward to seeing where they take her character. I had no idea she was Glinda in Wicked at one point!
Re: Smash
I think Debra Messing's characted is just annoyed by Tom's assistant. She see's him as a creeper- doing anything to get ahead. Just doesn't trust him.
I'm looking forward to see what happens too! Ivy was driving me nuts this episode, I was glad Katherine spoke up to the other "ensemble" member.
i'm digging the intrigue of this show...i'm just waiting for the assistant to play his "i know about your affair" card.
ivy is WAYYYYY too over-the-top as marilyn, it's totally unbelievable and unrelateable.

Overall, the show is good enough to keep watching. But the plot moves pretty slowly.
I think she is threatened by her because she knows she is good. For one she has never been in a show and went head to head for the lead with someone who has a decade of experience. Also, Ivy mentioned a couple episodes that she wondered if she only got the part because she slept with the director. I think part of her thinks that is the reason and not her talent.
I just watched Monday's episode. It slowed down since the pilot for me, but it's still holding my interest.
At first, I was thinking how could they not pick Ivy over Katherine McPhee? When she first did Marilyn in the mirror backstage at her old show, I thought it was amazing but now it's getting over-the-top and annoying.
Ivy is being a big baby. I didn't see that coming somehow. That's getting interesting but I hope she doesn't get McPhee fired.
I hope the other parts pick up... I don't really care how they finance the show or the fact that Angelica Houston and her husband are divorcing. And quit throwing drinks in his face already!
???
i think karen/katherine mcphee would be MUCH better. i don't like the blonde.

I also agree with you on this...I think Ivy really looks and acts like a good Marilyn. I love Katherine's character as well but she doesn't seem like a Marilyn to me. I am hooked on this show!!!
If anyone read my post last week where I said I was starting to like Ivy.... pay no attention to the man behind the curtain! I've changed my mind. I guess that one song got me emotionally but the moment has passed.
LOL
I like this show a lot. I didn't entirely "buy" Karen being all best friends with the other ensemble members so quickly but I still enjoyed the episode and their club scene. Her boyfriend is adorable IMO... I hope they don't break up as Broadway begins to play a larger role in her life.
Next week looks really good.
SN: I forgot which of the Jonas bros was on but I liked him!

I agree! I couldn't get over them becoming buddy-buddy so quickly after giving her dirty looks, etc.
I love this show! I hope it's doing well in the ratings; I'm worried it's going to be canceled!
