Help Easing Sore Knees after Runs
I've just started running again and while I'm not running very far (2-4 miles a day, 5-6x/week) and I'm not running very fast either, my knees have been killing me. Is there anything that I can do to ease to pain post work out?

Your knees shouldn't be getting sore in the first place.
Have you been fitted for running shoes? If not, you should be, at a local specialty store (NOT a big box chain store).
I would also not recommend running 5-6 days a week for a beginner. Take a rest day between runs and do some cross-training instead.

I would have to agree w/ Brie - Generally speaking, my knees are not sore after a run. I have a history of knee problems, so after a particularly hard run/race i have some soreness, but it's usually gone w/ in a day or two.
When I first started running I wore nike shox (the horror) and my knees always hurt. After I got fitted the soreness went away.

Thanks for the advice. Looks like tomorrow will either be a rest day or some lifting at the gym
I just got fitted for new shoes at our local running shop. I don't think the shoes are the problem.
I have terrible, bummy knees and even now, when I can actually run longer distances, I have to take a day in between runs to let my knees rest. I also recommend doing some form of cardio like a stationary bike to build up the strength in your legs. The quads are the building blocks for healthy, strong knees, and doing something like a stationary bike will build the muscle up. I also take Osteo Biflex too, which builds up the cartilage in your joints.
