House pics

Here's the historic one.

image There are no inside pics but I'll make sure to take some when we go look at it. According to the listing it was built in 1795. Not really sure I want to buy a house that old.

    Isn't it SO PRETTY????

I really hope the inside isn't a wreck because that will make me super sad. The price is good on it but even if the inside is perfect, I don't know if I will be able to convince the H unless every part of the electrical and plumbing have been updated.

  • That is gorgeous.

Here's my question: Lets say you did purchase it, will your town's board need to approve your renovations in order for you to maintain its historic look? THAT can be a huge pain in the arse.

*That happened to my old bosses. They are designers here in NYC, bought a house in CT. Very old, super gorgeous. Any renovations they did had to go for approval so that it maintained historical integrity.

    It was UGLY.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)
  • Oh, it is so pretty. So pretty. For your decision-making's sake, I hope it's either gorgeous inside and fully updated OR completely ridiculous inside and not updated and an obvious "no".
  • Oh it's gorgeous.  I dream about houses like that.  It's one of the things I miss the most about CT.  There's so much stucco down here and I hate the stuff.
  • I kind of want to beat you out for that house, ESD.  But I wont.  It's GORGEOUS!  Sooooo New England!

I honestly have no idea. If it needed a lot of renovations, we wouldn't buy it anyway.

And interro, that's what I'm hoping! lol.
