How bad are the roads?
I live in N. Metro and have to take 494 all the way to Eagan today. Are the roads bad where you are? I'm nervous after watcing the local news.

I live in Hugo, and turned back...35e was not plowed at all couldn't even see the road! There were 4 people in the ditch and the radio traffic reports had jack knifed semi's on 694 (which is my route), and several spin outs on exit ramps the whole way down 35e. It took me 45 minutes to go 7 miles and it just wasn't worth it.
The roads are like driving on washboards the way that the ice and snow set up last night.
I drive 394 into Minneapolis and it wasn't too terrible. A bit bumpy at times from compacted snow and ice but mostly it was just slushy. People were driving slowly and cautiously so while it did take me a little longer it wasn't too scary.
I would think 494 would be about the same.
This. I didn't think it was bad at all, just really choppy roads from the frozen ice.
