I have a 7 mile mixed tempo run tomorrow. I'm getting up at 4:45 to get it done because my day is a bit crazy.
Usually, I don't eat before I do a training run but I've never gone this far this far before breakfast either.
I don't do well with real food before running in the morning so the options that won't make me puke are either a stinger waffle or a GU.
The workout is 1 mile warmup, two miles @ short tempo pace, one mile easy, two miles @ short tempo, 1 mile cool down.
If I can do six moderate miles on an empty stomach should adding in one extra mile cause me to hit the wall that badly?

I am like you and dont eat before I run (I just take a gatorade pre-fuel thing).
Just bring a gu with you during the run and use it if you are feeling sluggish
I don't eat prior to my 5am runs either. If I am going to run 8+ miles, I will eat a couple shot bloks on my way out the door.
Maybe eat a gu, gel, a few shot bloks, handful of sports beans, etc... before heading out for your run.

I would have a GU before I go out if I were you.
Normally I have no problem working out or running the am on an empty stomach but with the pregnancy, if I don't have time for breakfast (and for time for it to digest some) I will have a GU as I head out.
I'll take a Gu with me and load up tonight. It's an excuse to eat a few of these I spent all day making
