As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I always wanted to be a teacher. I'd play school in the spare bedroom.
Re: QOTD
And that's exactly what I went to school for, what I currently do and have been doing for the past 14 years. I've worked in places that manufacture flexible metal hoses, chemical and paper pumps, sneakers, firearms and handcuffs, machinery, and helicopter parts.
I'm a breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, co-sleeping, anti-CIO Mommy

For a while I wanted to be a ballerina, then a lawyer, then a singer, then a lawyer again. Now I'm in communication, getting my MBA, and seriously considering moving into HR.
Brie's Blog 10.11.08 The Top Shelf Bookshelf
my read shelf:
when i was in 6th grade, i did a report on different careers I could have if I became a psychologist. When I was 14 (28 years ago), I learned about "Industrial Psychology", a precursor to Human Resources.
And, I was done. That was it. That's what I was going to do.
I always wanted to be a teacher. And really I still sort of do. Specifically a preschool teacher or kindergarten. I love that age. But I know I wouldn't be able to deal with the beaucratic stuff or the parents. (This was after watching what my mom went through in her later years as a teacher before her retirement. It was all about the tests, not about the learning)
I always loved playing with all of her school stuff and even my teachers would give me and my friends old worksheets or books to use at home for pretend school.
My Knot Bio My Blog
So funny you ask this, I was just asked the other day at work. Without blinking an eye I said I wanted to be a mother.
Now I just want to be a SAHM, but I'm happy just to have an amazing kid who calls me Mom.
