Response from my rep re: "Women's Right to Know"
Dear Jessica,
Thank you for contacting me with your thoughts on House Bill 1077. I appreciate the opportunity to respond to your concerns.
House Bill 1077 was introduced by Representative Kathy Rapp to require a patient to undergo an ultrasound at least 24 hours before an abortion is performed unless a medical emergency exists or the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. This bill would create both administrative and criminal penalties for a physician who knowingly violates these provisions.
While I believe it?s important women seeking an abortion be afforded the opportunity for an ultrasound, I believe this bill, as drafted, goes much further than necessary and imposes unreasonable requirements on women and their medical providers. HB 1077 has been referred to the House Committee on Health where it awaits further consideration.

I received a response from my Rep (Greg Vitali), last week. He said he opposed the bill as a supporter of a woman's right to chose.
I had never contacted a rep before so I was pleasantly surprised at how fast i received a response.
