What's your "yay me!"?
We don't celebrate each other's accomplishments nearly enough. We're always onto the next thing.
Please share at least one thing you're proud of as a result of February's efforts.

Re: What's your "yay me!"?
This isn't so much an accomplishment, but progress that has been made.
My MIL and I have not had a very comfortable relationship. She came on really overbearing and opinionated about a lot of stuff. We didn't see eye to eye and I pulled way back. Things hit a boiling point 4 days before Henry was born and it was really tense for a long time after. Things have slowly gotten better, but there is still "distance" between us. Our relationship isn't what it should be.
I decided that I really needed to get us on the right track before the next baby. She wants to be involved and I will need her help. Henry has so much fun when he is with them and I want him to be close with his grandparents.
She gave Henry money for his birthday. I told her that I was going to sign Henry up for a tumbling class with that money. Since the class would be her gift to him, I asked her to join us each week for it. She was so happy and came with us to the first class. It was nice. We took turns helping him do the balance beam and obstacle course.
It may sound silly, but this was a big step for us. She didn't try to take over and I was more open to her. It has taken almost 9 years to get to this point. I feel bad that so much time passed, but I am very glad that we are both making an effort in the way we interact in order to be closer. It is better for Mike, for Henry, but most importantly, it is better for us.
Gah, sorry that was long and boring but really I feel very good about taking the initiative to move forward.
Ditto. Seriously, I am moved and impressed.
It makes me wish I had the desire to make an effort with my MIL.
I didn't have the desire for a long time, either. We lived out of town for the first 6 years and I just gutted it out for our short weekend trips home.
I wish I could skip the awkward trying to rebuild phase and just have us settle into what our relationship will be. It will come and I know the effort will be worth it. We won't ever be very close - my SIL (her other DIL) and MIL call each other every day and SIL goes to MIL for everything. But we will get to a place that is right for us and our personalities.
Hoek, as someone who has also had some major struggles with her MIL for years, I'm also very touched by your story. That's awesome that you've been able to make that progress. Good for you! And for her!
I'll add mine:
I've been spending time on the elliptical and/or doing my videos. I'm feeling a difference, and took some measurements yesterday. Plural inches lost. Yehaw!
I have two because I'm an AW like that
1. I have over half of my class at or above kindergarten reading level already! Woohooooooo!
2. I got an A on my first major paper for my class. My prof is a big ol' snotball and I was REALLY worried about my writing style with him. Hurray!
Plural?? Yehaw, indeed!! Congratulations!
Hoek that is fabulous, I often think I am ready to do this with my MIL then she goes and does something really stupid and I'm reminded why I don't :P
GRSP - great job on the workouts, it's so satisfying to be able to see results!
Mine: I am currently up to 3.8 miles in my running. Not great since I was able to run 3.1 a few weeks ago, but I've had some setbacks (flu, tattoo on my foot needing to heal) and MAN are those hard to come back from. However I've lost 4 pounds and feel great about myself when I do get my run in
Those are both awesome, congrats to you!!
High 5, Freeburger!
LVila, that's great. We got a glimpse of the classes MAP scores at conferences. Willa's teacher is dealing with a huge spread of abilities. I'm sure you are too. Awesome job!
Late to the party, but I've been actually working my direct sales business...and shocker...I have parties and sell product when I pick up the phone. Things are really in an upswing, so I'm motivated to keep them there.
Also, I've really been trying lately to just let the little things go and not get stressed over them, and it seems to be working.
Um, I have not dropped out of law school and I am still married. Yay me!
I have also lost more weight, now the lightest I've been in four years, but I don't feel like that is the result of effort on my part. I guess I do work out very regularly at least 5 days a week, but I consider that necessary for my sanity.
Congrats to everyone on their accomplishments!
I want to say mine is that we actually started work on the office redo. However, it's now been stagnant for 2 weeks. I am vowing now to get it closer to done this weekend!
KerCo, if I had the Taboo buzzer... that annoying, b@stard buzzer, I'd buzz your answer. Now you have to think of 2 things!
Even if they're teeny tiny accomplishments.
Great job, everyone!
Agreed
Woot! That is so awesome.
LV, that is AMAZING. and good job on the paper!!!
Yay!
Good job on working on your business and yourself
You're doing great!
Getting started is the hardest part
I just totally rocked a phone screening for a company that would be awe.some. to work for.
JGE, first, I like your efforts at quoting everyone. Is there a way to do that efficiently?
Fingers crossed for great results from your screening call.
there isn't, I opened up the replies in different tabs then copied subsequent posts into the first. I thought it would be less annoying that way than doing one reply for each.
Thanks!!!! I think I bagged the first interview with the hiring manager, we should be scheduling it next week. Woooooot!
lol, thanks!
