I didn't sleep well last night because DS woke up several times crying. I couldn't figure it out but it didn't seem like nightmares because he was fully alert each time. I put him in bed with me so he would sleep better but then I slept worse.
I woke up late and gave him a bottle (17 months old) in a high chair in the bathroom so I can shower. He is a handful so I can't let him around the house without my watch. In the middle of the shower, he was banging on the door near him and screaming his lungs off. I couldn't figure it out. So I hurried out and got dress. I put him on my bed with a toy and got all of our stuff for the day ready to go to take him to daycare and for me to go to work.
Next thing I know... Major diarrhea.... both hard and water went through my beddings, my sheets, even a pillow and it reached into my mattress. Poor little guy, he must have been hurting all night from the looks of it. I got him in a bath and all dressed up and he looks like he feels so much better now. I pulled the beddings off. I had no time to wash and I don't even know how to rescue my mattress. There are two sauce pan size wetness in the mattress and the whole room stinks.
I am 2 hours late for work, managed to walk in a puddle and now both pant legs are wet, came across new mail saying I am delinquent for DMV payment by a whole month, feeling bad that I didn't figure out DS was crying over pain sooner. It is only 9am now. I know I am going to have to figure out how to clean my bed tonight and I am feeling sad that my divorce is coming up in 3 weeks that I cried on my commute to work and sad that I am a single mom. Sigh.... Thanks for letting me vent.
Re: Bad Morning, I need hugs!
I hope your day gets better! If your ds isn't talking much yet, you can't get upset with yourself for not figuring that out right away! It happens to the best of us.
As for the single mom part, I swear it does get better
I'm so sorry! That's when being a single mom is hardest. Sometimes we can keep all of the balls in the air and do just fine but there are other times when the shiit just hits the fan-literally.
Try scrubbing the mattress when you get home with some sort of baking soda mix (it might kill the smell, I'd Google this). Baking soda is my go-to cleaner for everything
You might have to dry clean the comforter but hopefully you have another set of sheets and you can just wash the soiled ones.
At least DS feels better now, you couldn't have known he was hurting!
Get yourself a coffee when you have a break to wake yourself up and cheer you. Big hugs. We've all been there before. Cut yourself some slack!
You are totally having a "WTF else can possibly go wrong today?" kinda day.
Everything seems worse when you are stressed out. Take a few minutes to relax and write down what is in your ability and control to do today. Concentrate on those things and do not worry about something that is happening in three weeks.
One day at a time. : )
Awwww!
I'm sorry your day was off to such a bad start.
For the mattress-look at fabric cleaners for couches and so on. We have one with OxyClean in it that has worked a few miracles on couch stains. You could also get a febreeze with Lysol or something like that for the smell that will also hopefully kill germs! One day at a time, it will all get better.
I will try the OxyClean as well as the baking soda idea. Thanks so much.
Sooo tempting!!!

I am sorry you had a bad day. It will get better!
As for your mattress, once you clean it, go buy a waterproof mattress protector. BEST THING EVER.

I am going to buy this once I get my mattress cleaned
