Nice we're having weather

Tornados, and blizzards, and damage. Oh my!

We're watching the weather channel right now and February 29th seems to have brought the pain. Anyone near these tornados? I couldn't handle that sh!t, I was always so freaked out by warnings when I lived in NC.

But the snow! Yay! It's finally coming!

Re: Nice we're having weather

  • Whatever, whores. You think you're above talking about the weather?

I'm lacing up my new winter boots in preparation of thah stahm comin', ayah. Tomorrow's OOTD will be a vision. Snow fun.

  • I'm afraid it's just going to be a sloppy mix. I have to walk across town this afternoon at the height of the mess.
  • I'm really not anticipating much more than rain with maybe a little slush mixed in.  sigh, there's always next winter.

  • It's 75 here today dude.

    I dread this summer.

  • I'm right in the middle of it all here in KY.  It was 65 when we went to bed last night so we left the balcony door open and at 5 this morning our balcony furniture went flying down onto the patio and my planter ended up in our bedroom.  It was crazy.

We live in the middle of no where so there are no storm sirens.  It looks like 3 confirmed dead in a IL town about an hour away.   We lost a couple big trees and the guy about a mile down the road lost his roof.  They cancelled school so R is going to go check on some of his kids.

Edit: Now it's up to 10 dead.

  • Oh man, kitkat. That sounds so scary - especially to be woken up by it.

NE girls. The weather channel is making this look pretty bad for Boston. Kay, I can see you guys just getting yucky and messy, but it looks like Boston s supposed to get 10".

  • We have slushy snow/rain going on, it's delightful.  No crazy winds though.

  • Holy sh!t kitkat, I just saw your pics!!
  • Holy shiiiit, Kitkat! There's nothing left of some of those buildings.

After pretty much the mildest winter ever (seriously, I think we got to freezing maybe 10x all winter), I planted seeds kind of pushing the average last frost date. Then two days ago it dipped down to 28. I hadn't seen anything poke it's head up yet, so maybe it'll be okay, but I think I'll wait a little before planting more.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
  • It's cold and windy and rain/snow mix here, but I'm pretty sure I won't be complaining after seeing Kitkat's pics.

  • mouse, the bluebonnets are already blooming here in Houston. They usually are not out until late March/early April. But i have no fear that it will freeze here. It has not been below 50 in over a month.
  • We got some thunderstorms last night, but nothing too serious.  Its supposed to be windy as hell later today.  Such crazy weather for end of February.

I don't know man. I think both have a level of scary that I don't care for. I can definitely say Tornadoes are scarier than hurricanes, but freaking earthquakes and tornadoes may be on the same level.

  • At least with tornadoes you get a warning, well most people do.

R just called and said it's not awful in town.  So it looks like it just hit by the river.

My tulips and daffodils are up and some of my daffodils bloomed yesterday.  I'm sad because I doubt that they will even last till easter.

Last year the snow and ice was awful.  This year it froze here about 4 times and we had one night of snow with 60 degree temps the next day.

  • I have a lifelong fear of tornadoes. That's my most frequently recurring nightmare. That said, I never take cover when I hear sirens. Even since Joplin. One went over or very close to my house once but didn't touch down until a few miles away. I listened and looked out the window (I heard it, but didn't see it). Maybe I have a death wish.
