I'm so excited about these things that I just had to share!
I've been following my doctors advice to the letter, lots of soups made of bone broth, lots of coconut oil and full fat coconut milk, raw pickles, sauerkraut, and kombucha, no grains, dairy, eggs, legumes, starchy veggies, nuts, or glucose-based fruits, alcohol, no coffee and no caffeinated tea. Anyway, I've actually been making some really yummy food and after the first few days haven't really missed the carbs. I miss my coffee like crazy though - as soon as I'm cleared to drink it I will be having a decaf latte with coconut milk lol.
Anyway, in one week I have lost 7.5 pounds, my hands and feet are not cold all the time (showing that my thyroid is beginning to function at a higher level) and I just got my period for the first time in 2+ years. I thought it was completely gone because of Mirena but I'm thinking that maybe my whacked out hormones had something to do with it. I haven't had any stomach/intestinal pain for a week now and it's amazing. I'm so happy!

haha I've been eating a lot of soup with non-starchy veggies (greens, onions, mushrooms, winter squashes, cruciferous veggies, etc.) coconut milk, coconut oil, ghee, apples, pears, berries, etc. I've been making smoothies out of coconut milk, ice, and berries, or poaches apples or pears in green tea. Last night I made curried vegetables with coconut milk, before that I made spaghetti squash with avocado pesto and all natural bacon. It's quite tasty but a little restrictive.
