T&Ps and vibes please
Yesterday was a long day...
First I get a call from my step-sister and she told me that her uncle had passed away. He fought a long battle of colon cancer. This is the first death my niece will remember and I feel so bad for her. Please send whatever t&p you have to my step-sis and step-bro and their family.
Also I could use some vibes. The visitation is tomorrow night and the funeral is Saturday. The visitation is in the same funeral home where I saw my brother for the last time. I'm already having anxiety over going in to that building again. The sucky thing is that I have to go by myself. My mom and step-dad are out of town and Rusty is going to have to stay home with Parker. I hope I keep my emotions in check so I can be supportive to my step family.
The other bad thing that happened yesterday was that my in-laws dog got attacked. The dog, Notch, was Rusty's from when he was in college and his parents eventually "adopted" him. Notch was in Rusty's grandmas fenced front yard. The neighbors dog jumped the fence and attacked him. My FIL, who lives a few blocks away. got there as soon as possible and got the dog contained in another fenced area. Notch had to have emergency surgery through the night and they think he will be ok. My in-laws don't want to file a police report and I'm irritated about that. I understand that it was their neighbor, but this needs to be on record. The neighbor has said they will pay for everything, but what if this dog attacks again. What if it was Parker in the front yard? I get sick thinking about it. Please send some vibes that Notch will be ok and that my in-laws actually file a police report.

I'm sorry. That is a lot to be dealing with all at once! A few months ago I had to go to a funeral in the same funeral home that we had my Dad's in, and it was so difficult to keep him out of mind, but I didnt stay long. I made a point to give my condolences to the family and chatted with family for a few minutes and then I slipped out. I'm not sure of that is an option for you.
As for your in law's dog, that is scary! Has the neighbour's dog shown aggression before? I would be scared to take parker over there for sure. I really hope that they choose to report it!
