Treated myself last night... some product raves

Went to Sephora and purchased:

Benefit's That Gal (brightening face primer)

 http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P189147&categoryId=B70

I absolutely love it!  I'm actually wearing it alone today.  Just gives a nice bit of glow and evens out my skin tone

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

 http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P210400&categoryId=B70

This was actually a re-purchase.  I love this stuff!  A lot of times, I'll wear absolutely nothing on my face except this and it just evens everything out.

Tarte Cheek Stain in Tickled

 http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P38468&categoryId=B70

I used to LOVE this stuff back in the day (I think I was still in high school) when this stuff came out.  It's a great, sheer cheek stain and the colors are all so flattering.  And it smells like jam!

  • I've heard great things about the Make-Up Forever Powder. I may have to check it out!

  • How do you like that Benefit face primer? Do you feel it as in, is it heavy?

I wear the Benefit Benetint, and man do I love that stuff. It evens me out, gives me a little color and its super light.

However, I am seeing tons about this face primer business.

Im just worried I'd end up looking like a tranny hooker, ya know?

    LOL

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker ...here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart I carry your heart(I carry it in my heart)

The face primer is SOOOOOOOOO light.  I can't feel it on my face at all and it goes on very light.  It's a little more viscous than a liquid, but nowhere near as dense as a cream.

  • After we had that blush conversation a few months ago, I picked up some cheek stain. I love the way it smells.

I have recently gotten the Yes to Carrots leave-in conditioner. I may be late on this train, but it makes my hair so soft.

  • I treated myself last weekend to some Sephora stuff too!  I loooooooove Benefit products.  I've had That Gal for a while, but I never really noticed a difference on my skin.  I bought their concealer - the one in the little pink pot.  The consistency and color are perfect.  The Dandelion powder and High Brow pencil are other favorites of mine.

I think I might go back this weekend and pick up some lip gloss and eye cream.  I discovered my first wrinkles a couple of weeks ago and I'm not handling it as well as I thought I would.

    This is my siggy.

Erase Paste?  I wanted to buy that, but I have fine lines under my eyes and the consistency seems like it would settle into the fine lines and make them more noticeable.

Yes, that's the one!  My new eye wrinkles seem to be handling it just fine.  It's hard to tell in the pot, but there's a slight sheen to it, so it brightens up my circles.

I have lines everywhere now. :( Eyes. Parentheses. The edges of my lips. Forehead. I think I need to learn to accept it. At least no one can accuse me of being 20 anymore.

So far, it's only really under my eyes.  I think it's all the years of having light blue eyes and NEVER owning a pair of effing sunglasses.  I could SMACK my 20 year old self.

  • This thread reminds me - I still have that bottle of Wen pomegranate.  If you're going to the GTG, I'm going to bring it.  It's been wasting space under my sink.

    I'll take it!

And I love how it seems that at gtgs, I end up with awesome hair product.  During the NJ gtg a few years back, HS came with a whole BOX of Ouidad products for me!

    Thanks Bowies!

I love going into Lush, but I hate taking baths.  So I sit there and consider buying all the bath bombs- but then admit to myself that they'll just end up sitting in my linen closet for the next 5 years.

  • I want all of these products now. I have fair skin that is a little bit splotchy from sun damage. So a quick fix that evens it out is what I need!

    Thanks for the rec!

    Thanks for the rec!

I also have fair skin that has some splotchiness (mostly due to scars from my lovely adult acne) and tends towards redness. I definitely think you should check it out!

  • Here's a rec for you--but you probably don't need it since you just went to Sephora.

Paula Begoun, Barely There Sheer Matte Tint. It has sunscreen in it! SPF 20

You can get a cute little sample jar for 80 cents. Simple and a bit of evening out for summer.

     http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/barely-there-sheer-matte-tint-spf-20

ETA: I've seen every Gilmore Girls episode. Was so sad when it went off the air. I feel like the town I work in resembles Starr's Hollow.

Thank you! I always love a good recommendation.

And YAY Gilmore Girls!  It really is one of the best shows ever.  I actually own two copies of the entire collection on dvd.  I pretty much just cycle through the show all year long.  When I get to the last episode, I start over at episode 1 again.  And I still will watch it when it's on tv.  I have problems.

I love little Stars Hollow-like towns.  My hometown looked like Stars Hollow.  So cute!
