We need an Insurance Advocate, any recs.

A few people have suggested we get an Insurance Advocate to deal with our claim from puff back.  I never heard of this.  If you have a person you'd recommend, please let me know.

Thanks.

  • Do you have an agent?

  • Do you mean an insurance adjuster? We had one after our house fire. He basically fought with the insurance company to get the most money back. Although it is reccomended to have one after a fire we had a poor experience with our guy. They are supposed to charge a small to no percentage like under 5%. Our guy charged 11%. So he basically got 11% o any money we received from our insurance company.

  • i think so Niko.  but folks i spoke to called it an advocate.  maybe that's why googling one in the hv is not working. The guy from sleepys said his person charged 6% but does not remember his name.  I am thinking we are going to need one since we are not back in the house and don't really know the full scope of what is really working and not working (i.e. fridge is done, but want about other appliances etc.) until we move back the water is shut off.

  • We had people show up to our home literally the day after handing out business cards. I know your situation is completely different. Can your insurance company suggest anyone? Or your agent? Maybe try googling an adjuster and see what you get
