Monograms Poll

Do you like monogrammed stuff?  Like totes, keychains, scarves, wallets, etc?  Or is that not  your style?

Obviously I'm below the Mason-Dixon line, but the girls on this campus have monogrammed EVERYTHING.  Kindle covers, backpacks, you name it.  Some of it is super cute, but I think that whole trend just passed me by entirely.  I don't have a single thing with my monogram!

Re: Monograms Poll

  • I/We don't own anything with a monogram on it. Not. A. Thing. I'm not opposed to it, but I guess based on that I am just not into it.

My SIL however, even has a freaking trash can with their initials all over it.

  • LOVE.  I don't think of it as a 'trend' though - it's kind of always been the 'preppy' thing to do.  I have one of these, not pink, w/ my monogram that I use as a beach bag:

I wear a gold monogrammed necklace everyday.  One of my favorite dresses of Jane's was this:

and if I had an iPhone I would totally get one of those monogrammed phone cases you see on Pinterest.  I've looked and they never have my (random) Android models.  Sad.

ETA: The more I think about it - we have so much stuff, lol.  We have napkins with a "C", we were gifted burp clothes that say "Jane", etc.  I never really thought about it but yea, I guess maybe I should live in the South?

  • I don't mind initials, but I am too stranger-wary to have my name on ANYTHING.  Somebody bought B a tote bag with his name on it.  That will only ever be used as his day-care bag because I don't want him out and about with something that says his name.  We were given burp clothes with his name embroidered, and I only use them at home.  I know....I'm a worry wart.
  • We do have a 31 gifts big tote that says our last name-forgot about that!  Planning on using it as an extra diaper bag for the nursery at church, etc.

And I got a few xmas towels on clearance last year with our last initial on it-they are super cute.

  • I don't think I've ever had something with my monogram on it. Even for our wedding.

I have had a few things with my name on it, mostly stationary or sweatshirts from sports, but that's about it.

  • I love monograms.  I'm with naylon, I think it's classic preppy for the most part.

I just got some pillows from Pottery Barn for our bed that are monogrammed with our married monogram and I love them.  I feel like it's a nice personal touch.

Pretty much everything in Natalie's big girl room is monogrammed or personalized... her euro sham, duvet, toy box, and I'll be hanging her initials on her wall.

That said, I don't really have anything I take outside of the home that is monogrammed, although I would purchase something of that nature.

  • I don't have anything monogrammed, but I have a lot with my name on it (at least 3 or 4 bags).  Plus personalized stationary, stickers and tags for LOs things.

  • I have a monogrammed overnight bag that I take on short getaways but nothing else. It's not super trendy around here as I don't recall any friends or family having monogrammed stuff around their house or anything.

  • Honestly, I've never thought much about monogrammed stuff. So, I have no opinion on it.

My SILs have a lot of monogrammed stuff (Southern Gals and very preppy). It's NMS, but they seem to pull it off.

  • I have Mrs.Lastname on my lunch bag for work. Other than that I don't have anything. I think it's cute, but I'm more of a plain Jane.
  • I have purchased a ton of monogrammed stuff before I had my embroidery machine but surprisingly have done very few things for myself. My pillows are on my to do list. Future kids will have a crap ton of things monogrammed too. Surprising, I know. :)
  • I do.  I like a couple of things, but not everything.  It can be overkill.
