(PR)Just Had My Doctor's Appointment
I know in the past I've complained a lot about my doctor's office. I have been planning on switching for a while and just never got around to it. I really like the ultrasound tech and the blood tech, I like my PA okay, and am not really happy with the doctor. Well, my PA went on maternity leave and they got a new PA, which is who I saw today. I LOVE her. She knew my file back and front and answered most of my questions before I even asked them. She was just totally awesome. She understood that I was still really concerned about possible m/c. She did all of the standard stuff they do at a first appointment- urine sample, 4 vials of blood, pap smear, family history. She then said that since I was still so nervous she was going to see if she could sneak me in for an ultrasound. She told me I might be able to see a heartbeat, but if not then not to worry because it was still early. She also said once you see the heartbeat, your m/c chance drops to about 5%.
Well, she got me in for the ultrasound and....I saw a heartbeat! I couldn't believe it, it was just there on the screen flickering away. I just started crying. I also got to hear it when the measured it, it was so amazing. It was measuring at 113 bpm. I feel so relieved. I am bummed that DH missed it, but it was just such an amazing experience!
