Stupid (and probably flame-worthy) confession

Stuck in the hotel bar in Detroit right now, having a drink to keep from hyperventilating about running into my ex-boss, while drafting my presentations for this weekend, and I'm g-chatting with the new guy I mentioned in the O&O post.

I haven't met him irl yet (first date is set for next Saturday), but I'm getting all giddy smiley-faced just chatting with him. Haven't felt this way with anyone in a looooooong time. It's going to be suuuuuch a let-down if things go poorly next weekend!

  • My humble advice: have no expectations.  If he sucks, then you're not disappointed.  If he's awesome, then you're pleasantly surprised.

Ditto. I had a great online vibe from someone and no IRL chemistry.  Sucks when that happens

I also agree with this. Hopefully he'll be awesome and you'll be pleasantly surprised though!!

The same happened with me. We texted each other a lot before we met, but then there just wasn't a spark. I even went out with him a second time with my fingers crossed, but no. :(
