Half Marathon Training WWND?

I am been trying so hard to train for the Rock and Roll National 1/2 on March 17th and have been sick with colds multiple times.  This latest cold started on Sunday and I have been too exhausted to work out all week.  Last week I ran 10 miles with a friend on Thursday (45 seconds slower per mile than I wanted to) and then ran 6 miles on pace Saturday with DH after jogging close to 4 miles with my running group earlier that day (another 10 mile day).

This week was suppose to be my last hard week before tapering and I was suppose to do an 8 mile temp and a 12 mile long run.  DH thinks I need to try to rest up and then Saturday get the 12 mile run in.  What would you all do this weekend if you finally felt well enough to run and the race was 2 weeks away?

Any suggestions appreciated, I do 1/2s often, but this was suppose to be my last hard push for a 1/2 with a PR.  I am thinking with all these colds though I just won't be able to meet my goal.

  • was it 8 miles TOTAL or 8 miles at tempo pace (and like 5 miles tempo?)  Either way, I would just do the tempo during the 12 mile run.  No biggie.
