Couples Negril....anyone been there?

we are "this close" to booking there but i am hesitant. DH is all about it....i am a bit nervous about it.

Re: Couples Negril....anyone been there?

  • This is in the running for us as well as Couples Swept Away and Cabo. How did you pick this one over Swept Away?
  • DH wants to go to Negril over Ochos Rios and we have heard Negril is the better options
  • both the ones I mentioned are in Negril. I'm torn.
  • on interesting....DH hasbeen in charge of this....i think he liked the location of CN better than CSW.
  • I haven't been to either of those resorts but I've been to Negril and that's the place to be IMO, Seven Mile Beach is amazing!

As far as picking between CN and CSA, I'd personally go with CSA because of so many rave reviews I've seen on here, and I love the way it looks.

  • Book it! Couples Negril may be my favorite place on earth. We spent a day at CSA when we were at CN for the 2nd time, and while I see why people love CSA, it was not for us. It's much more spread out, the beach is longer but more narrow, and didn't feel as warm or intimate. CN has a very active pool and swim-up bar, and the beach feels more calm than CSA. But, CSA seems to have a younger crowd overall (although there are folks of all ages at both), and have more evening activities, although that can depend on the crowd there that week. There are many people who feel passionately about each one, and it is a frequent topic on the Couples message board--you can't go wrong with either.

Here is my tripadvisor review of our last trip:

and here is a post I put on the Couples message board with a comparison of CN and CSA:

Sorry, can't make it clicky, I'm on a mac.

But, bottom line, either one is great, if you are at Couples, it will be a fantastic experience!

  • DH and I went to Couples Negril on our honeymoon and LOVED it.  It was worth every penny.  The food was good, the beach was gorgeous, the drinks were amazing, and there was so much to do.  We had a blast on the catamaran cruise.  The pool bar was so much fun.

We also loved that the people that worked there really paid attention to you... when we came the first day, I asked for a drink the bartender had never heard of, so I told him how to make it.  Within 24 hours every bartender in the resort knew how to make it, and knew I was the one who liked it.

I strongly recommend the resort!  We'll be going to CSA in 6 weeks though, so I'll post a review of that when I get back :)

We've stayed at both and my thoughts are similar to this.  CN felt smaller and more intimate.  CSA was more spread out and had more of a party vibe, but felt much larger overall (size-wise and population-wise).  Between the two we much preferred CN.  We met lots more people a CN and just had a better time overall.  The only thing I liked better at CSA were the rooms, but we stayed in a Garden View at CN and sprung for the beachfront suite at CSA.

I agree that you'll have a fabulous experience at either--both are top of the line with great food, top shelf alcohol and fantastic beaches and facilities.  I just preferred CN.
