What fridge layout were you going with. Not that it really matters but I'm design curious. It's also dead quiet here so I thought I would post.
Also besides flooring are you guys doing anymore renovations.
Re: *Raynes*
I want a bottom freezer fridge for sure, preferably french door. There are quite a few options in the 33" range, so we should be good there.
What other renos are we doing? Whooo-boy. Lots. Ha.
We sort of reconfigured our second story a bit. When the previous homeowners added the second story on it was just the mom and her grown daughter living there, so instead of building a master bedroom and 2 smaller rooms, they did 2 big rooms and 1 small one. Both of the big rooms had terribly small closets. So, we decided to move some things around.
Here's what it used to look like:
And here's what it's like now:
We moved the door to the bedroom closest to the bathroom (room 1) over towards the bathroom, moved the wall in that room in about 20 inches and built out a new closet. Added a linen closet to the hallway (there's one in the bathroom too) and made a sort of walk-in section in the closet in bedroom number 2 (now the "master").
I've got a bit more wall paper border to pull down in room 1, but I've got a few walls painted the new colour. The master is mostly painted, just waiting on some finishing mud work.
All 3 rooms are getting new carpet and we'll do hardwood in the hallway.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Are you painting everything by hand or do you have a paint sprayer your using? I hate painting and we have a lot of painting to do in our new house. Renting/buying a paint sprayer is one of our debates right now?
Also which countertops did you decide to go with?
Sorry I am being nosey.
I like your new layout. I think it makes a lot more sense. Is that the nursery in the top right?
Crystal, we're painting by hand. I don't mind it, either I do the cutting in and Derek rolls, or I just pop on an audiobook and paint away while he's working on something else.
We ended up going with a different (not so fancy) laminate, specifically this one called Milano Glen.
It's half the cost of the other!
To pick it out, we grabbed a whole ton of sample chips from Lowed and Home Depot and started weeding them out. When we go down to a few we liked we did a few things. 1) took a picture of them against the cabinet material and sent it to Derek's BFF, and 2) googled around for pictures where people have actually used it.
eeeeeeeeeva, yup, nursery up in the top right. There's a pretty decent closet in there too. It's going to be cramped with all the furniture in there, but it should work!
