As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

The boards will be changing...again...
Just an FYI- Tonight they are supposed to start updating the boards. They'll be starting with some of the bigger ones, then local boards and the rest throughout the week. It's going to be formatted similar to how the knot boards are now.
So I'd be prepared for the boards going down at some point.

What I understood is if you click on that then that particular post shows up in your feed on FB. I could be wrong though... this is just what someone said who tried it out, so I don't know if it affects everything you post.

Very much this. I like how this is separate from facebook. Maybe it's to keep boards from running off to Facebook to make their own groups?
I hate the knot's format. I really hope it's not too big a change.

Local boards are already switched over if you want to see what it looks like. I hate it. It seems like everything runs together because there's no color differentiation between the list of threads and the white background of the actual page. Why couldn't they have fixed all those other issues without messing with the format? Also, is there any headway being made towards a user friendly mobile site?
Really, I'd be all for packing up and going to a different message board hosting site and not even dealing with this crap. I mean, how many of you actually use the nest for more than the boards?

I want to let you know that we have heard your suggestions about the Twitter and Facebook share option. We will be removing the Twitter and Facebook share option from the local message boards as soon as we can. We will also not be including these options in the new message boards going forward. The updated changes should occur by next week.
Please pass this information along to the users on your boards and let me know about any other feedback you are getting about these changes.

I haven't seen the main nest page in months. I have all the boards I frequent bookmarked. I don't use anything on the nest, but I do on the bump. They have quite a few little tools that have been useful. I definitely like these message boards better than other ones I've seen. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.
Reenie: I am SO glad they are removing the links! That makes me feel better about the whole thing.
Do they "test" these board with a user group or something before deciding to make all the changes? I know that no one ever likes change, but it rarely seems like the changes they make are for the better at all.
I have this board bookmarked and that is all I do on The Nest. I also lurk on a few other boards, but never use any of the other features. Same goes for The Bump actually. The Knot was the only one I used when I was looking for ideas for wedding planning.
