Moving Day FINALLY!! Had to Share :)
So after the angst of deciding to build, putting our home on the market, selling at a loss, relocating my family, 7 months in a temporary rental and 10 months of building plus all the stress that goes with it...the movers are finally coming in 7 hours! Moving Day is HERE!!
I'm in a state of disbelief. I can't wait to see all my furniture that's been in storage. I think I might cry when they put my bed back together. LOL.
It has been hard feeling like a gypsy for a year, especially with my two kids.
Please wish me luck and send some good vibes this way. Moving twice in 7 months SUCKS, but it was worth it and I'm looking forward to finally having a place that is ours to call HOME.

That is so exciting! I hope it is an easy transition into the new house. Have so much fun reuniting with all your things!
I'm looking forward to seeing all the things I packed up last fall too. I can only imagine how hard it would be to have goen without for a whole year.
I am thrilled for you and the kids. I cant imagine doing all that with mine. Congrats and good luck with your move
OMG, I read your post to DH and we chuckled. We feel exactly the same way as we are waiting for our house to be completed. (and we don't have kiddos) so I can only imagine how excited you all are for today.

We have been in temp. house with our relo for 16 months!!! We initially thought we would buy a home on the market and be in temp housing for 6-9 months. But after looking at everything on the market - we couldn't find what we want so we built - which has been an easy process once we designed the house with the architect (which took 3 months + 6 for building).
Anyway - we move in a couple of weeks. I don't even remember what I have in storage anymore LOL
It was a brutal, BRUTAL day. entire move took 11 hours.
Thank god, my girlfriend too my kids from lunch until dinner.
It took 7 hours for my rental to be loaded and placed in the new home and then another 4 hours to go to the storage unit and load and empty.
Movers shower up almost 3 hours late (GRRR!! Supposedly the truck broke down) so instead of starting at 8, it as closet to 11 and they weren't out the door until 10:25 in the evening!!
I've been like a crazy loon, unpacking and settling in. Spent Sunday until 2 am, unpacking the whole kitchen. 2 am the next night in the LR, and 2am last night getting the family room somewhat sorted.
It's BEYOND thrilling to see all my old furniture in it's new place and a small gallery wall already makes me feel so much more settled in 4 days than I have in the last 7 months.
Thanks so much for all the congrats and well wishes. I'm looking forward to making the kind of memories now that make a house a "home"
