It actually was not a bad date. However, there is no way I'm into this guy! First, right from the start, there was a height issue. I should have listened to all you ladies that said the guys tend to add a couple inches for good measure. His profile said 5'7", already I was thinking it was a bit short, but whatev - he seemed really nice. I wore flats and we were practically eye to eye (I'm not quite 5'5"). Oh well, we had been having nice conversations the last week or so, so I thought make the best of it. Then the ex conversation came up. Yes I realize that I've been married twice and maybe could be considered damaged goods by some (which I'm not - I'm the best me I've ever been), but this guy has real issues. He's still married, but separated since May. He's supporting her while she finishes school (they have 3 kids) because he's hoping they will continue a 50/50 custody when she's done and not have to pay child support. Also, in case I need to know for sure its over between them, she's also got a girlfriend she lives with. I'm thinking if you still have to validate saying a relationship is over by giving reasons why, you are definitely not over it even if the relationship is done.
All in all, I'm glad I went because it was good practice! This is the first date I've been on without already knowing the person maybe ever...that is really sad since I'm almost 30. Maybe I need to get on that lol.
Re: Date last night...
Eh, I don't think any date is a wasted one unless it is REALLY bad. Also, maybe cut the shorties a break. I love me a tall man but my BF is the same height that I am.

I did climb! I had never done it before, but I was so proud of myself. I actually made it to the top of one of the walls that wasn't with the kiddie walls! My arms are a bit sore this morning, but I felt very accomplished hehe. And since we had the whole conversation that I don't really do much that is athletic, he was actually a bit shocked that I was able to do it.
Yeah - I'm trying to stay open minded about the height. But...this may be flameful...he looked more like a tall little person which for me was NOT attractive.
I definitely don't think it was a waste at all. We had fun and that's what really mattered. And I was actually able to tell him at the end of the night that I didn't want to go out again.
Bwahahahahaha!!!! I almost spit out my coffee. I hear you. You need to be attracted to the guy that you are dating but I know so many woman who set "rules' as to how tall a guy needs to be. Which cracks me up because they all want a guy over 6' tall when they are 5'4 or 5'5. I am 5'9 and my only rule is to be at least my height. Congrats on being able to tell him that you don't want to see him again! It can be hard!
