I finally have a plan...

It's not ideal, but it will only be temporary.

I spoke with my parents this morning, and they are going to let me (and my dog) move back in with them.

The goal is to pay down my car enough so that I'm not upside down, and then get rid of it, and get a new car that is much less in payments. I'm paying out the butt for my car payment, and it's killing me, and affecting my rental budget. This way, once I get a new car, the lower payments will allow my to have more money towards rent, and therefore be able to live in a more desirable area where I would feel safe. (The only places I could afford now are NOT safe at all, they are what I like to call the ghetto - and confirmed through the local PD).

Anyway, now I just need to tell my STBxBF that it's officially over and I'm moving out. Wish me luck.

Re: I finally have a plan...

  • I'm glad you have a plan. I think it's wise to move in with your parents until you can get rid of your car. I've lived in the ghetto before and absolutely hated it. It's terrible to live somewhere you don't feel safe.
  • Good for you! I can completely relate to being in over your head with a car. I just got rid of my more expensive car and was able to get something else and lower my payments. Although its not ideal, you will be so glad to get that breathing room in your budget! Its only been a week since I made all those changes and I already feel a million times better. Good luck and hopefully you be able to meet your goal quickly and into your ideal position.
